Good things come in small packages!

I always thought it would be wonderful to have a surprise wedding - to gather a group of friends and family around for a bbq, and then, when the moment presented itself, ask everyone to be quiet for 10 minutes while you got married’. How much fun would that be!

It was this idea that prompted me to specialise in smaller ceremonies - more flexible, more fluid, less stressful and a lot more fun!

Minimony

A short, simple ceremony, similar to a civil ceremony (registry office) or an elopement. A minimony covers the legal requirements in front of a small group of your people – immediate family and closest friends - and at your choice of venue.

Micro-wedding

A smaller version of a regular wedding ceremony but only with your nearest and dearest attending. The ceremony can be personalised, and can include a ritual and/or a reading, but because everyone there already knows your love-story, we don’t need to retell it! Write your own vows or choose from my resources. Taupō has many unique settings for a micro-wedding, including a lot of of well-located holiday homes with private access to the lakefront.

Elopement

Traditionally elopements were a spur of the moment, unplanned event (think Vegas!).  Today, with the increasing costs associated with getting married, elopements are a lot more common.  The shores of Lake Taupō, with the mountains in the background, provide the perfect backdrop for an elopement. If you are international visitors, eloping in Taupo, I can provide witnesses if you have no-one travelling with you.
